Southeast Testament, Inc. is a small, nonprofit organization committed to being a good steward with the gifts you provide and will always be a blessing to others. All SET Officers and Directors serve on a volunteer basis so administrative costs are minimal. Unlike many other nonprofit organizations, 99% of our funding goes directly to helping our needy neighbors.

SET would like to thank you for your financial support in 2016 and we sincerely hope your passion for this ministry continues in 2017.

What happened with the SET mission in 2016?

  • Twenty-eight cargo trailers (6’x12’) full of donated items were delivered to The Vinton County Distribution Center (four trailers in fleet to date).
  • In 2016, SET paid three months rent for a family in Lancaster and two months rent for a family in Gahanna. We completed several service projects such as building a handicap ramp in Blacklick, Ohio, and provided over $11,000 of building materials (flooring, paint, drywall, etc…) to repair homes in Central and SE Ohio.
  • Peace Lutheran Church in Gahanna continues to be a major partner/contributor in the SET mission. Unfortunately, the 2016 Annual SET Golf Outing was cancelled due to lack of timely sign ups, however there will be an outing this year at The Links at Echo Springs Golf Course on June 25th. Please sign up well in advance so we can plan accordingly. To sign up, please click here.
  • The 6,600 sq. ft. SET Vinton County Distribution Center has three offices, a reception area, and a 3,000 sq. ft. distribution center with pallet racking, There is also a dining area/kitchen, six showers and it sleeps 26 volunteers. Numerous volunteer groups stayed in the SET building over the summer to perform service projects in SE Ohio.
  • SET provides office and distribution space to Lutheran Social Services for case management, benefit bank, furniture/appliance/clothing distribution, service projects, home repairs and disaster relief for needy residents.
  • LSS Director John Pyron communicated to us that through the SET partnership, Lutheran Social Services served 1,943 individuals, 599 households, and repaired numerous homes in 2016. Additionally, $57,627 worth of in-kind donations were provided to needy families over the past year.
  • SET, Peace Lutheran Church, and LSS distributed Christmas gifts and 80 hams to 63 families/354 children during the Vinton County Distribution Center's Christmas Give Away Event in December.
  • In 2016, 57% of Southeast Testament’s funding was received through the United Way’s Donator Choice Program where supporters designate their giving to the SET mission.

Again, thank you for your continued support! None of the above would have occurred without your commitment and passion to help our neighbors in need. I wish all a safe and healthy 2017.

God’s peace,

Joe Schmitt
